Austin was raised in Southern California and later attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Before pursuing a legal career, Austin gained valuable real-world experience working in both the entertainment industry and the hospitality sector, including at James Beard–nominated and Michelin-starred establishments.
Austin earned his Juris Doctor from Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law, where he also obtained a Certificate in Entertainment Law. While in law school, he balanced rigorous academic demands with the responsibilities of being a father of two, all while working as a law clerk for both litigation and transactional firms. These roles allowed him to develop a strong foundation in legal analysis, client service, and practical problem-solving before transitioning into workers’ compensation defense.

Outside of work, Austin enjoys cooking, hiking, writing, cheering on the Raiders, and spending time with his wife and children.
